About the role#
This internship is a summer-long assignment based at our Rockford, Illinois site. You will work directly with the HR Manager to handle day-to-day tasks and contribute to specific projects. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience by assisting team members in reaching operational goals.
What you'll do#
- Maintain personnel and training records.
- Assist with job postings and manage applicant tracking records.
- Coordinate new employee orientation programs.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide general administrative support to the HR team.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and training materials.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, and various HR projects.
- Participate in site events to promote a positive workplace culture.
- Engage in career development programming, including workshops and networking opportunities through the GSC Program Team.
- Manage special projects as identified by the HR Manager.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college or university program.
- Status as a rising or current junior or senior.
- Pursuit of a degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Psychology with a concentration in an HR-related field.
- At least one year of experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting, whether through work, extracurricular activities, or military service.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
- Previous Sherwin-Williams internship or co-op experience is preferred.
