About the role#
The Transportation Intern position is a summer-long assignment based at our Distribution Center in Buford, Georgia. You will work directly with the Fleet Operations Manager to support daily tasks and special projects. This is a full-time, paid internship running from May 24, 2027, to July 30, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Fleet Operations Manager with daily operations and specific projects.
- Manage the procurement of contracted truckload, expedited, and intermodal transportation.
- Oversee outbound truckload transportation processes.
- Select carriers based on site requirements, service quality, cost, and existing commitments.
- Participate in early career development programming, including workshops, information sessions, and networking events through the GSC Program Team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college or university, specifically as a rising or current junior or senior.
- Pursuing a degree in Operations, such as Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related fields.
- At least one year of experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting, such as extracurricular activities, military service, or past work.
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
- Preference is given to candidates with previous Sherwin-Williams internship or co-op experience.
