About the role#
The Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12-week summer program. It offers hands-on experience in our retail stores, providing insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will gain exposure to business-to-business and retail environments, travel with a Sales Representative, and work with your management team. Interns also complete a team-based project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Recommend products and maintain displays to support sales goals.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves and support visual merchandising efforts.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Help with unloading deliveries and organizing stockrooms to ensure efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in training sessions and follow store policies, safety guidelines, and loss prevention protocols.
- Support team members in resolving customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a project to address a business challenge.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university, specifically as a rising or current Junior or Senior.
- Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs on occasion.
- Willingness to work scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have a meets expectations rating on your most recent performance appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
