About the role#
The Sherwin-Williams Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12 week summer program. It offers hands-on experience in our retail stores, providing insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will gain exposure to business-to-business and retail environments, travel with a Sales Representative, and work with your management team. Interns also complete a team-based project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Ensure a welcoming environment and positive customer experience.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items that meet customer needs.
- Contribute to sales goals through effective support.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves, support inventory management, and contribute to visual merchandising.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Help with unloading deliveries, organizing stockrooms, and ensuring efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in required training and adhere to store policies, including safety, HR guidelines, and loss prevention.
- Support team members in resolving customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a project to address business challenges.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship.
- Enrolled in a college or university, specifically as a rising or current Junior or Senior.
- Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. on occasion.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service position.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting, such as work, extracurricular activities, or military service.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in Spanish.
