About the role#
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Internship is a summer-long assignment based in Rockford, Illinois. You will work directly with the site EHS Manager to support daily operations and safety initiatives. This role is designed to provide exposure to site-level safety management while you assist team members in achieving organizational goals. The program runs from May 24, 2027, through July 30, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Implement safety-related programs at the site.
- Conduct employee training and promote safe work practices.
- Coordinate occupational health and safety projects.
- Analyze accident and incident records to identify trends.
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives and site events.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the Safety Manager.
- Engage in early career development programming, including workshops and networking opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university, specifically as a rising or current junior or senior.
- Pursuing a degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Environmental), or Business.
- At least one year of experience using Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting, such as extracurricular activities, military service, or prior work.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
- Previous Sherwin-Williams internship or co-op experience is preferred.
