About the role#
As an Industrial Design Intern, you will join our cross-disciplinary design team to work on real product launches. You will participate in the entire product development cycle, from initial research and concepting to final CAD and prototyping. You will work alongside Design, Engineering, and Marketing teams to shape the visual and tactile identity of Shark and Ninja products.
What you'll do#
- Support Industrial Design and CMF leads throughout the product development process.
- Translate consumer insights into user-centered design solutions.
- Create sketches, illustrations, and high-fidelity renderings to communicate concepts.
- Build visual and functional prototypes to test and refine ideas.
- Collaborate with Engineering to produce clean, manufacturing-ready CAD files.
- Define product details including color, material, texture, and surface finishes.
- Develop presentation-ready visuals and storytelling assets.
- Explore new materials, trends, and aesthetics to inform future product designs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an industrial design bachelor’s or master’s program.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or Rhino for product design.
- Experience creating high-quality 3D renderings using Keyshot.
- A portfolio of creative work that demonstrates a clear product development process.
- Familiarity with mechanical engineering and part design principles.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with flexibility and focus.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset and a curious, forward-thinking approach to design.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship.
- The role is based on-site in Needham, Massachusetts.
- The term runs from September 2026 through December 2026.
