About the role#
Allegion is hiring an Industrial Design Co-op for Winter 2027. You will join our internal design team in Carmel, Indiana, to support projects across our home, bike, portable, institutional, and commercial security brands. This is a full-time, on-site, paid position. We are looking for a creative student with a strong technical foundation and an interest in architectural or interior design styling.
What you'll do#
- Support project teams and help define the future of security through research and new product concepts.
- Create concepts through sketching and build physical mock-ups.
- Develop CAD models, computer renderings, and animations.
- Work on UI/UX, ergonomics, and product displays.
- Participate in design reviews and present your research and ideas.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external customers.
- Manage your time across multiple projects while owning specific deliverables.
- Assist with promotional activities related to design.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an industrial design degree program at an accredited school.
- Proficiency with Adobe software.
- Ability to create CAD models and renderings (experience with Creo and Keyshot is a plus).
- Basic understanding of mechanical construction, manufacturing processes, and materials.
- Strong creative problem-solving skills and attentive listening.
- Ability to present ideas, accept constructive feedback, and iterate on designs.
- Comfort working in a team environment with designers and other functional groups.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
