About the role#
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering group develops and improves the processes used to manufacture Allegion products. As an intern, you will support this mission by helping us manufacture products more safely, at a higher quality, and at a lower cost. This is a full-time, paid summer internship based on-site in Carmel, Indiana.
What you'll do#
- Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Develop, trial, validate, and document new and existing activities.
- Assist in implementing Lean Manufacturing methods to streamline processes and reduce waste.
- Support the design and review of automation opportunities.
- Work with data analytics, including AI, predictive models, and data collection tools.
- Provide floor interface support and develop learning tools.
- Optimize fleet and pathways, including AGV and AMR delivery automation.
- Work on maintenance tools such as TPM, preventive, and predictive maintenance.
- Support the development and standardization of manufacturing technologies.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least your 2nd year of university.
- Enrollment in an Engineering or Technology degree program is preferred.
- A commitment to safety, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
