About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will contribute to the Mechanical Engineering Competency at Allegion. You will work on the design, development, and technical analysis of components and assemblies. This role involves generating and evaluating design concepts to meet product requirements or improve existing designs. You will gain exposure to electronic locking systems and access control solutions while collaborating with engineers on manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment.
What you'll do#
- Develop 3D models and participate in peer design reviews.
- Apply engineering tools including FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, Tolerance Stack Analysis, and DFM/DFA.
- Utilize software such as Creo and MS Project for product development.
- Perform mechanical testing techniques.
- Participate in daily and regular team meetings.
- Collaborate with team members to produce solutions.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative.
- Basic understanding of electronics.
- Ability to work effectively in both team and individual settings.
- Resiliency and the ability to adapt quickly.
- Strong time management, listening, and creative problem-solving skills.
- A desire to learn and grow within the organization.

- Compensation: $25-$26 per hour.
