About the role#
As an Industrial Design Co-op, you will join our cross-disciplinary design team to gain hands-on experience across the full product development cycle. You will work alongside Design, Engineering, and Marketing teams to help shape the visual and tactile identity of products used in homes every day. This role involves practicing user-centered design and developing solutions that address both functional and emotional needs.
What you'll do#
- Support Industrial Design leads on product launches from initial brainstorming through to market.
- Translate consumer insights into user-centered design solutions.
- Create sketches, illustrations, and high-fidelity renderings to communicate ideas.
- Develop presentation-ready visuals and storytelling assets for leadership.
- Build visual and functional prototypes to test concepts.
- Collaborate with Engineering to deliver production-ready CAD files.
- Specify product details including surface finishes, color, material, texture, and branding.
- Explore emerging trends, new materials, and future-forward aesthetics.
- Define design language for future products while solving for performance, cost, and user delight.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an industrial design bachelor’s or master’s program, or graduation within the past year.
- A focus on or major in industrial design.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or Rhino.
- Ability to visualize ideas through high-quality 3D renderings in Keyshot.
- Familiarity with mechanical engineering and part design.
- Ability to plan and manage multiple projects with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective presentations to management.
- An original portfolio of creative work demonstrating your product development process.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to bring positive energy to a team.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (August through December).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Location: On-site in Needham, Massachusetts, 5 days per week.
- Note: This position does not offer relocation or housing assistance.
