About the role#
Allegion is looking for an industrial design co-op to join our internal team for the Winter 2027 term. You will support our various brands by creating security products for home, institutional, and commercial applications. This is a full-time, on-site, paid position based in Carmel, Indiana.
What you'll do#
- Support design projects and help define the future of security through research and new concepts.
- Handle design research, sketching, CAD modeling, and computer rendering or animation.
- Create prototypes and explore UI/UX and ergonomics.
- Design and create product displays and support promotional activities.
- Engage in design reviews and present your ideas and research.
- Manage your own time and deliverables across multiple projects.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external customers.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an industrial design degree program at an accredited school.
- Ability to create product concepts through sketching and physical mock-ups.
- Working knowledge of the Adobe suite.
- Ability to create CAD models and computer-generated renderings or animations.
- Basic understanding of mechanical construction, manufacturing, materials, and processes.
- Ability to present ideas, accept constructive feedback, and adjust designs.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attentive listening skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Interest in aesthetics and styling related to architecture.
