About the role#
The Velocity Global Risk Management program offers a customized internship experience for students interested in banking risk. You will work within specific streams including Market Risk, Business Banking Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk, or Retail Risk. This program provides exposure to risk oversight, quantitative modelling, and banking strategy while working alongside senior management.
What you'll do#
- Participate in risk management streams such as Market Risk, Business Banking Credit Risk, Enterprise Risk, or Retail Risk.
- Engage in quantitative modelling or risk oversight activities.
- Conduct data manipulation and portfolio trend analysis.
- Assist with risk technology project work and customer analytics.
- Present data and research to support risk strategies.
- Interact with senior management.
- Attend bank-wide orientations and student development events.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.
- Analytical mindset and investigative abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of PowerBI, SAS, SQL, or Tableau.
- Self-motivated with strong time-management skills.
- Active involvement in extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, and competitions.
