About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience within the Canadian Banking division at Scotiabank. You will work alongside team members on various finance projects, contributing to the execution of strategies aimed at improving profitability and utilization.
What you'll do#
- Support projects in close collaboration with partners.
- Assist in identifying problems and potential steps to resolution.
- Create reports using Excel and PowerPoint.
- Track rates and conduct competitive reviews.
- Respond to internal and external stakeholder requests regarding pricing and other finance matters.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a program related to Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Basic credit skills, including familiarity with writing up deals, spreading financial statements, assessing risk, financial modeling, and drawing conclusions.
- Intermediate knowledge of accounting and financial statement analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-orientated mindset.
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders.
- High level of competency with the MS Office Suite.
