About the role#
The Project Sales Representative serves as a key member of the Home and Building Centre team in Big River, Saskatchewan. This full-time, on-site position focuses on driving sales growth within the home improvement sector while delivering high-quality service to contractors, builders, and retail customers. You will manage the full project lifecycle, from initial consultation and estimating to order fulfillment and follow-up.
What you'll do#
- Model the company vision, mission, and safety principles while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
- Drive sales growth by collaborating with Home Centre Team Leaders to implement pricing, merchandising, and promotional strategies.
- Conduct project consultations to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate building solutions.
- Prepare accurate quotes and material takeoffs using estimating software and internal systems.
- Coordinate project fulfillment with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders.
- Manage the project lifecycle by tracking progress, following up with customers, and identifying new sales opportunities.
- Support daily retail operations, including merchandising, inventory control, and store readiness.
- Resolve customer concerns efficiently to maintain high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building materials, industry trends, and relevant building codes.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience in home improvement, construction, or retail, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
- Strong construction knowledge, including the ability to interpret building plans, material takeoffs, and specifications.
- Experience in project estimating and quoting, with proficiency in using estimating tools or systems.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, and retail customers.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills for in-person, phone, and digital interactions.
- Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in orders, pricing, and project execution.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and the ability to perform physical requirements of a home centre environment.
- Ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
