About the role#
Discovery Co-operative is looking for a Part-Time Student Deli Clerk I to join the team at our North Battleford Food Store. This role helps maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organized operation while providing service to our members.
What you'll do#
- Prepare food and beverage menu items according to established specifications.
- Handle raw and cooked foods safely.
- Take customer orders and serve items from the menu.
- Process transactions through the point-of-sale system and balance your cash at the end of each shift.
- Monitor product quality and remove items that do not meet standards.
- Record equipment and product temperatures.
- Maintain a clean work area through regular housekeeping duties.
What you'll need#
- You must be under 18 years old and currently attending high school.
- If you are 14 or 15, you must have completed the Young Worker Readiness Certificate.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfort working with various food service equipment and in environments with high temperatures.
- Willingness to obtain a Safe Food Handling Certificate upon hire.
- Previous experience in customer service or food preparation is preferred, though not required.
