About the role#
The Meat Clerk is a part-time position based at the Orchards Food Store in Edmonton. This role involves maintaining the meat department to ensure high standards of service, cleanliness, and product availability for members.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service to customers.
- Wrap, label, and package prepared meats.
- Ensure product rotation is maintained so items remain fresh and displays are full.
- Face, fill, and organize product items.
- Disassemble and assemble department machines for thorough cleaning.
- Wash cooler and prep room floors daily.
- Clean and sanitize cutting blocks daily.
- Monitor case temperatures and perform general equipment cleaning and housecleaning duties.
What you'll need#
- Previous retail experience, specifically in a meat department, is an asset.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong verbal communication abilities.
- An enthusiastic approach to work and the ability to remain efficient in a busy environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs consistently.
- Willingness to work with all types of meat and meat products.
- Honesty, trustworthiness, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Open availability is considered an asset.
