About the role#
As a Piping Stress Engineering Intern, you will join a project team to support the design of new power plants and the modification of existing systems. You will work under the direction of experienced engineers to gain practical experience in piping engineering and analysis. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Perform quality reviews of technical documentation.
- Assist in the review of design and vendor drawings.
- Apply your knowledge of materials, stress analysis, statics, and vibrations to real-world projects.
- Use automation and AI tools to solve engineering problems, improve workflows, and create efficient designs.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a BS or MS program for Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- A strong academic background with an interest in materials, stress analysis, statics, and vibrations.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of software like MathCAD, AutoPIPE, PipeStress, or ANSYS is a plus.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in an engineering office is valued.
