About the role#
This summer 2027 internship places you within the Nuclear Power Group. You will work on a project team to assist engineers with their daily tasks. This role focuses on the design of new systems or the modification and upgrade of existing power plant and industrial facility components. You will work under the direction of senior engineers to apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Track and evaluate project activities, progress, and related data for project reporting.
- Support the execution of project work across various engineering assignments.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, General, or Systems Engineering.
- A strong academic background in mechanical systems analysis, specifically thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or heat transfer.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- Prior internship or co-op experience and an understanding of the practical application of mechanical engineering principles are valued.
