About the role#
Hatch is seeking a Mechanical/Piping Engineering Intern to join the Project Delivery Group. You will work from our Tampa office to support our global operations. This is a full-time, paid position that offers the chance to contribute to complex projects and gain practical experience in your field of study.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing engineering calculations including hydraulic modeling, stress analysis, equipment sizing, and tank design.
- Ensure all technical analyses meet system and user requirements.
- Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and project standards based on received input.
- Create or provide input for 2D mechanical drawings and update engineering lists.
- Assist with detailed design preparation and support the creation of drawings from specifications.
- Coordinate with other technicians and engineers on project tasks.
- Provide support to senior engineers and designers.
- Perform assignments specific to your sector and travel as needed to support global business.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to practical engineering problems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with staff, clients, and vendors.
- Aptitude for working on multi-disciplinary teams and understanding inter-discipline task requirements.
- A commitment to safety and engineering excellence.
- A desire to learn and develop professionally.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is an asset.
