About the role#
As a Structural Engineer Intern, you will join a project team to assist with the design of new electrical substations and the upgrade of existing systems. You will work under the direction of experienced engineers to apply your academic background to real-world structural challenges. This is a full-time, paid internship scheduled for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Review structural design drawings and vendor documentation.
- Support the team in performing structural analysis and design for steel structures, foundations, and concrete members.
- Solve engineering problems by using data and modern tools, including automation and AI, to improve workflows and design efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science program in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
- A strong academic background in the behavior of materials, structural analysis, and design.
- Proficiency with PC software.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

- This role is based in Chicago, Illinois.
- The position requires on-site attendance.
