About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in sports administration and operations at The Ripken Experience Aberdeen. You will assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of tournaments and event programming. The program runs from March 9, 2026, to May 22, 2026. We are happy to work with your school to assist in securing college credit for your participation.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning and execution of all tournament programming.
- Create a fun atmosphere for participants and act as a positive role model.
- Announce youth baseball games, play music, and operate the scoreboard.
- Relay messages to the Tournament Director and support the operations team with complex-wide tasks.
- Assist with weekly facility maintenance and upkeep.
- Provide customer service and communicate with coaches and parents before and after tournaments.
- Collaborate with staff members from various departments to understand company operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program.
- Prior experience in customer service and working with children.
- Genuine interest in sports, specifically baseball or softball, with a strong understanding of game fundamentals.
- Outgoing personality with excellent communication skills, high energy, and initiative.
- Ability to perform all job responsibilities physically.
- Attention to detail and the ability to solve problems or resolve conflict in high-pressure situations.
- Strong time-management skills.
- Previous experience in the sports sector is preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Aberdeen, Maryland.
- The role is full-time and paid.
- Work schedules vary and will include nights and weekends.
