About the role#
As a Social Media Intern, you will help manage the social media channels for The Ripken Experience in Aberdeen. You will work on brand marketing initiatives and learn how to create and share content for our baseball tournaments. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position. We are happy to coordinate with your school to help you secure college credit for the program.
What you'll do#
- Learn how to operate baseball tournaments according to The Ripken Way.
- Create content for social media platforms while following brand standards.
- Collaborate with brands and agencies to run sponsored social media campaigns.
- Use social media tools and analytics to increase audience engagement.
- Act as a positive role model for guests and ensure a high level of customer service.
- Work alongside staff to support event objectives and provide a great experience for participants.
- Proactively seek learning opportunities and show initiative in your daily work.
What you'll need#
- A degree or current enrollment in a communications or marketing program.
- Professional experience managing Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Experience using content creation tools like Canva and Adobe Photoshop.
- Proficiency in capturing both video and photo content.
- Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
- An engaging, outgoing personality and a proactive approach to tasks.
- The ability to physically perform all job duties.
- A genuine interest in sports, particularly baseball or softball, and some experience playing the game.
- Previous experience in a social media, communications, or sports-related role is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Aberdeen, Maryland.
- The internship runs from March 2026 through May 2026.
- You must be available to work a variable schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
