About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in sports operations at The Ripken Experience in Aberdeen. You will assist with tournaments, All-Ripken Games, and event programming. The program runs from May 11, 2026, to August 10, 2026. We are happy to work with your school to help you secure college credit.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of all event programming.
- Learn and apply The Ripken Way to facility operations.
- Act as a positive role model while creating a fun atmosphere for participants.
- Announce youth baseball games, play music, and run the scoreboard.
- Relay messages to the Tournament Director and assist with facility maintenance.
- Communicate with coaches and parents before and after tournaments.
- Collaborate with staff across various departments to support company objectives.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a college degree, ideally in Business Administration.
- Prior experience in customer service and working with children.
- Strong interest in the sports industry with a solid understanding of baseball or softball fundamentals.
- An outgoing personality, high energy, and the ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to solve problems and resolve conflict in high-pressure situations.
- High attention to detail and strong time-management skills.
- Willingness to maintain professional composure at all times.
Location & details#
- This role is located on-site in Aberdeen, Maryland.
- You must be willing to travel during the summer.
- The work schedule varies and includes nights and weekends.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
