About the role#
Join The Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, TN, to help maintain our baseball complex for youth teams and their families. This paid, full-time internship runs from mid-May 2026 through late August 2026. You will work on-site to ensure our facility is ready for tournaments while gaining hands-on experience in grounds maintenance and operations. We are happy to coordinate with your college or university to help you receive academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Prepare the complex by setting up fields, managing trash removal, and readying hydration stations.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment, including tractors, golf carts, and UTVs.
- Maintain facility infrastructure, such as artificial turf fields, and perform safety checks for guests and players.
- Identify and report maintenance needs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, irrigation, landscaping, and paved areas.
- Support other departments like food and beverage or retail when needed.
- Provide a positive, customer-centered experience for every athlete and family member you encounter.
- Represent the brand with professionalism and stay coachable throughout the summer.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward or recently completed a bachelor's degree, ideally in Business Administration or Operations Management.
- An interest in facilities or grounds maintenance, or a strong willingness to learn.
- An outgoing, high-energy personality with solid communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to multitask, solve problems, and manage your time effectively.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work long hours and weekends based on business needs.
- Reliable transportation.
- Capability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in extreme heat or dusty conditions.
