About the role#
Repsol is looking for a Back Office and Market Operations Intern to join the Energy Management and Market Operations team in Houston. This twelve-week program offers exposure to wholesale power markets, renewable energy operations, financial analysis, and commercial energy management. You will work with a team to support settlement activities, market reporting, and portfolio monitoring.
What you'll do#
- Review physical and financial settlement data for energy market transactions.
- Reconcile settlement and invoicing information for Power Purchase Agreements.
- Monitor power plant metering data and validate transactional details.
- Prepare reports on energy market performance and asset economics.
- Support business planning, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Analyze variances between actual results and forecasts.
- Research ERCOT market fundamentals, pricing trends, and developments.
- Track position and exposure reports for portfolio monitoring.
- Manage Renewable Energy Certificate administration and tracking.
- Maintain databases and records to support business decisions.
- Take part in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Energy Management, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
