About the role#
Rendezvous Robotics is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the team in Golden, Colorado, for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will contribute to the development and hands-on assembly of flight hardware for electromagnetic self-assembling spacecraft components.
What you'll do#
- Design and iterate on structural components and docking interface hardware.
- Work on thermal management for onboard electronics and battery packs.
- Support the mechanical integration of electronics, power systems, and sensors within tight spatial constraints.
- Develop and refine harness and connector layouts between internal subsystems.
- Run structural and thermal analysis to validate designs before fabrication.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Onshape, NX, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360.
- Understanding of basic structural and thermal analysis principles.
- Preferred experience includes designing for space environments, familiarity with ruggedized connectors, hands-on prototyping, and experience with FEA tools.
- Due to ITAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
