About the role#
Rendezvous Robotics is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This full-time position is based on-site in Golden, Colorado, and focuses on developing software for modular spacecraft components that assemble in orbit.
What you'll do#
- Write and test flight software for our onboard compute platform.
- Build tools for ground station operations, including telemetry visualization and command sequencing.
- Develop communication protocols for units that maintain connectivity while the assembly changes shape or membership.
- Create simulation environments to test new logic before deployment to hardware.
- Debug issues spanning the software and hardware boundary in collaboration with the electrical team.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
- Understanding of basic networking and distributed systems concepts.
- Experience with embedded Linux or bare-metal firmware.
- Familiarity with embedded toolchains and frameworks.
- Exposure to real-time operating systems, scheduling constraints, or common embedded communication buses is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with robotics, drones, or satellite projects is a plus.
- To comply with U.S. Government export regulations (ITAR), applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
