About the role#
Rendezvous Robotics is developing electromagnetic self-assembling tiles to build large-scale spacecraft in orbit. This internship is a full-time, on-site role based in Golden, Colorado, for the Winter 2027 term. You will contribute to flight software and ground systems while working across software and hardware boundaries to support the assembly of modular spacecraft components.
What you'll do#
- Write and test flight software for the onboard compute platform.
- Build tools for ground station operations, including telemetry visualization and command sequencing.
- Develop communication protocols for units that maintain connectivity while the assembly changes shape or membership.
- Create simulation environments to test new logic before deployment to hardware.
- Debug issues spanning software and hardware in collaboration with the electrical team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
- Understanding of networking and distributed systems concepts.
- Experience with embedded Linux or bare-metal firmware.
- Familiarity with embedded toolchains, frameworks, real-time operating systems, or scheduling constraints.
- Exposure to common embedded communication buses.
- Hands-on experience with robotics, drones, or satellite projects.

- Location: Golden, Colorado.
- Term: Winter 2027 (12-15 weeks).
- Work Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
