About the role#
Rendezvous Robotics is developing electromagnetic self-assembling tiles to enable the construction of large-scale spacecraft. This internship focuses on the manufacturing and testing of these modular components. You will work on-site in Golden, Colorado, as part of a full-time position during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop and manage testbeds for spacecraft subsystems, including power, docking, and communication interfaces.
- Support the manufacturing of spacecraft tiles by creating work procedures and identifying process optimizations.
- Build and refine fixtures and test jigs to ensure repeatable hardware verification.
- Track and troubleshoot manufacturing defects, providing feedback to the design team.
- Assist in building test data pipelines to capture consistent results across hardware builds.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with hand tools, basic soldering, and hardware assembly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work from written test procedures.
- Experience with battery pack assembly or handling lithium-ion cells.
- Familiarity with environmental test equipment, such as thermal chambers and vibration tables.
- Background in test automation or data logging using tools like Python or LabVIEW is preferred.
- Prior experience in quality or manufacturing processes.
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
