About the role#
Rendezvous Robotics is developing electromagnetic self-assembling tiles to allow for the construction of large-scale spacecraft. This internship focuses on the manufacturing and testing of these modular components. You will work on-site in Golden, Colorado, during the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Develop and own testbeds for power, docking, and communication interface subsystems.
- Support spacecraft tile manufacturing by creating work procedures and identifying process optimizations.
- Build and refine fixtures and test jigs to ensure repeatable hardware verification.
- Track and troubleshoot manufacturing defects, providing feedback to the design team.
- Assist in building test data pipelines to ensure consistent results across builds.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with hand tools, basic soldering, and hardware assembly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written test procedures.
- Experience with battery pack assembly or handling lithium-ion cells.
- Familiarity with environmental test equipment such as thermal chambers and vibration tables.
- Background in test automation or data logging using Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools.
- Previous experience in quality or manufacturing processes.
- Due to U.S. Government export regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
