About the role#
The Capital Markets Risk Oversight team provides insights to senior leadership regarding the performance of the Capital Markets portfolio. This internship offers experience in credit risk management, data lifecycle management, and reporting frameworks within a large financial institution.
What you'll do#
- Analyze credit risk and portfolio data to identify emerging trends within the wholesale credit book.
- Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly risk reports for stakeholders.
- Contribute to deep-dive analyses on industry sectors within the Capital Markets portfolio.
- Participate in analytics design sessions to document business requirements and shape reporting frameworks.
- Apply technical tools to translate data into credit risk business decisions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in a quantitative discipline, such as Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Excel, including advanced formulas and data manipulation.
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Strong organizational skills to manage recurring reporting deadlines alongside ad-hoc requests.

- Eligibility: You must be returning to school after the work term or require this placement as a mandatory graduation component.
