About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship within the Group Risk Management team. You will work on commercial portfolio risk and credit analytics for a 4-month term starting in January 2027. This role is based in Toronto and operates on a hybrid model.
What you'll do#
- Analyze credit risk and portfolio data to identify emerging trends within the commercial book.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly risk reports for various stakeholders.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses on specific industry sectors, including commercial real estate.
- Participate in analytics design sessions, gather business requirements, and contribute to reporting frameworks.
- Use technical tools like Excel, SQL, and Python to support credit risk analysis and data transformation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Excel, specifically advanced formulas and data manipulation.
- Experience with SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis.
- Familiarity with a data visualization tool like Tableau.
- Strong organizational skills to manage recurring deadlines and ad-hoc requests.
- Ability to explain complex data insights in plain language.
