About the role#
RBC Borealis is the AI and data innovation division within RBC. This 4-8 month co-op placement offers students the chance to work as a Software Developer across various teams, including Full Stack, Back End, Front End, and Data Engineering. You will contribute to strategic initiatives and support the evolution of technical platforms.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with peers to develop, troubleshoot, and document code components.
- Translate project requirements into functional specifications and technical design documents.
- Conduct unit testing and build automated testing frameworks.
- Plan design and implementation activities while estimating tasks for coding and testing.
- Identify, track, and resolve technical issues throughout the development lifecycle.
- Present technical topics and participate in code and specification reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary institution in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology field.
- Understanding of programming languages, databases, platforms, and web technologies.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, including Agile and Waterfall methods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Creative and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Leadership initiative and a self-driven work ethic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
