    About the role#

    Join a team of engineers and analysts focused on turbine rotating components. You will work on projects ranging from initial design to manufacturing and field maintenance. This role involves exploring how geometry and dimensions affect component performance, specifically regarding turbine blade retention features and their impact on rotor sizing. You will use internal software, BCON, and ANSYS to study these effects for future applications.

    What you'll do#

    • Evaluate finite element modeling (FEM) boundary conditions to understand the operating environment of turbine blade retention features.
    • Perform studies to understand the trade-offs between retention features and component sizing.
    • Document and secure all work according to internal procedures.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Canadian university for the entire duration of the internship.
    • Authorization to work in Canada.
    • Proficiency with ANSYS Classic, Workbench, and Catia V5 or equivalent FEA and CAD software.
    • Ability to work on-site in Longueuil.
    • Clearance for a CGD/GT work environment, including specific ECL and EAR levels.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team.
    • Strong organizational skills and a willingness to share knowledge and improve processes.
    • Good written and oral communication skills.
    • Working knowledge of English to read technical plans, drawings, and specialized instructions, as well as to communicate with international colleagues or suppliers.

    • Location: Longueuil, Quebec.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (January 5 to April 23, 2027).
    • Modality: Full-time, on-site, Monday to Friday with flexible hours.
    • This is a paid internship.
