About the role#
This is a 12 to 16 month internship opportunity for final-year students or recent graduates in engineering or engineering technology. You will join the Methods Engineering team in Calgary to support the manufacturing planning and development for the DHC-515 Waterbomber aircraft. This is a full-time, on-site role starting in January 2026.
What you'll do#
- Develop and revise manufacturing work instructions, including build sequences and process requirements.
- Create Assembly Workbooks and visual aids using 2D and 3D CAD tools.
- Prepare production planning data for ERP systems and update documentation to meet QMS requirements.
- Participate in Methods Readiness activities for new product introduction and production ramp-up.
- Identify and implement tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids.
- Review and improve production processes alongside engineering, quality, and operations teams.
- Investigate production issues and non-conformances, including root cause analysis.
- Perform hands-on tasks related to tooling, assembly flow, and process troubleshooting on the shop floor.
- Provide engineering change support and update technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Methods, Production, Quality, Liaison, Engineering, Procurement, and Supply Chain.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from a recognized program in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with CAD tools.
- Interest in manufacturing processes, production systems, ERP systems, and quality systems.
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm for hands-on technical work and problem-solving.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
