About the role#
This Summer Student position is based in the Propulsion Engineering department at the Rockwood Propellant Plant. You will work directly with the propulsion engineering team and support chemists in the lab. This is a full-time, paid role for a four-month term running from January to April 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform analytical studies for the design of propulsion products and components.
- Create design concepts and generate product and process specifications.
- Assist with development testing of materials and components.
- Support the development of production processes.
- Prepare production process instructions.
- Help chemists and lab technicians with routine daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a second or third year student in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong academic standing and participation in engineering-related activities.
- Experience in a chemistry lab is considered an asset.
- Ability to pass a security clearance process.
Location & details#
- Location: Rockwood Propellant Plant, Manitoba. You must have your own vehicle as the site is not accessible by public transit.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January to April).
