About the role#
The Quality Engineer Co-op provides support to the Quality Department at the Middletown facility. You will assist with operational tasks involving the planning, dissemination, and control of quality requirements in line with company procedures and industry specifications.
What you'll do#
- Work with quality and manufacturing engineers to learn process, tool, and gage development.
- Assist in developing and maintaining methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation from First Article through production.
- Review design drawings for inspectability and assist in design for manufacturability.
- Analyze process flow, quality control plans, and FMEA to identify critical control points.
- Review non-conformances for severity and assist in corrective action and rework processes.
- Facilitate data collection and summarize inspection data for process improvement analysis.
- Assist with internal audits and ensure engineering or specification changes are implemented correctly.
- Enforce the Magellan Supplier Quality Requirements Manual and help resolve supplier-level issues.
- Learn to conduct training and create training manuals.
- Gain an understanding of basic inspection equipment operation.
- Maintain programs associated with 6S, Nadcap, AS9100, and ISO 14001.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program in Chemical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year university.
- Ability to work on-site in Middletown, Ohio.
- This position requires access to technical data subject to U.S. export control laws. Candidates who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents may be subject to an export licensing review process.
