About the role#
This is a full-time Software Engineering Internship for Summer 2027 based in State College, Pennsylvania. You will join the Raytheon team as part of the Raytheon Fellowship Program, working alongside experienced developers and engineers on complex aerospace and defense systems.
What you'll do#
- Perform software development, integration, testing, and documentation tasks.
- Ensure the hardware and software platforms operate correctly.
- Integrate various applications and verify they meet performance standards for stability and utilization.
- Develop software to bridge components and assist with testing.
- Write unit tests to maintain high code coverage.
- Participate in code peer reviews and design reviews.
- Create test plans to ensure software quality and stability.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or higher degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Academic standing of at least Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Grad by summer 2027.
- Experience with Java development in a Unix or Linux environment.
- Familiarity with agile development practices and version control systems like GIT.
- Experience with Python or continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Maven, or GITLAB is preferred.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
