About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mechanical Engineering internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in Atlanta, Georgia. This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD security clearance.
What you'll do#
- Support the Advanced Radio Frequency (RF) Front-End Hardware organization.
- Assist with the development of RF systems, subsystems, and components, including antennas and RF circuit cards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create architecture solutions for airborne radar antenna arrays.
- Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Develop prototype hardware designs and coordinate the fabrication process.
- Perform hands-on integration and testing of prototype hardware.
- Participate in design and drawing reviews with peers and subject matter experts.
- Provide documentation support using engineering tools, Adobe, and MS Office.
- Follow established procedures while working with program management and engineers to meet design objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field.
- Enrollment must continue through the end of the internship.
- Experience with mechanical engineering concepts and hardware tools.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD design and creating engineering drawings is preferred.
- Experience with prototype fabrication and harness or interconnect design is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including knowledge of tolerancing.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations is beneficial.
