About the role#
Flex is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Libertyville, Illinois. This is a full-time role for the Winter 2027 term. You will report to the Senior Process Engineering Manager and work alongside our engineering and cross-functional teams on daily production tasks.
What you'll do#
- Support the engineering team with time studies and the review of CAD, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Create and update manufacturing work instructions and equipment checklists.
- Research and suggest support equipment to maintain continuous production.
- Design and monitor Engineering Design of Experiment (DOE) projects.
- Write reports and present findings to the engineering team.
- Participate in team meetings and assist with project work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Mechanical Engineering at a 4-year accredited university.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or Solidworks.
- Interest in working within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus, as is knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.

- This position is located on-site in Libertyville, Illinois.
- The role is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week.
- This is a paid position.
