    About the role#

    Flex is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Libertyville, Illinois. This is a full-time role for the Winter 2027 term. You will report to the Senior Process Engineering Manager and work alongside our engineering and cross-functional teams on daily production tasks.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the engineering team with time studies and the review of CAD, drawings, and technical documentation.
    • Create and update manufacturing work instructions and equipment checklists.
    • Research and suggest support equipment to maintain continuous production.
    • Design and monitor Engineering Design of Experiment (DOE) projects.
    • Write reports and present findings to the engineering team.
    • Participate in team meetings and assist with project work.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Mechanical Engineering at a 4-year accredited university.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or Solidworks.
    • Interest in working within a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
    • Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus, as is knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.

    • This position is located on-site in Libertyville, Illinois.
    • The role is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week.
    • This is a paid position.
