About the role#
Flex is seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-op to join the team in Hollis, New Hampshire, for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site, paid position. You will work under the guidance of an Engineering Manager to gain experience in concept generation, design for manufacturing, prototyping, and technical documentation. You will contribute to real-world product development by applying your engineering knowledge to medical devices, ranging from home health wearables to surgical robotics.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with industrial design, user interface, human factors, software, and mechanical teams to produce successful product designs.
- Conceptualize, investigate, and develop innovative product architectures, parts, mechanisms, and assemblies.
- Create and support design solutions using CAD, analysis software, and laboratory equipment.
- Procure, assemble, and test breadboards and prototypes to refine designs.
- Measure and demonstrate design performance.
- Communicate design value, tradeoffs, and recommendations to internal teams and clients.
- Participate in multidisciplinary brainstorming sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year accredited university studying Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Fundamental understanding of electronics and physics.
- Hands-on experience in electromechanical assemblies, including wiring, soldering, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and understand a schematic.
- Experience with signal measurement tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Ability to modify and build circuitry, including basic circuit and hardware design.
- Experience with LabVIEW or Arduino as rapid development tools.
- Ability to document and communicate laboratory results.
