About the role#
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the design, development, and integration of land-based and shipboard radar systems. You will work within the Radar Mechanical Design Department to assist with hardware integration, electronic modules, and power and cooling systems. This is a full-time, on-site position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist mechanical engineers with the design and development of radar system equipment.
- Use RTX tools, including CREO and PDM, to complete design tasks.
- Provide design and documentation support using engineering tools and Microsoft Office.
- Perform engineering analysis and mechanical tolerance analysis using Geometric Dimension and Tolerance best practices.
- Collaborate with coworkers and various teams across the department to support organizational objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 60 credit hours completed by the start of the internship.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Prior experience through engineering projects or previous internships.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
