    About the role#

    Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Tucson, Arizona. You will join a multi-disciplined team supporting the design and production of Air Launched Effectors products and subsystems. This role requires an active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance, which you must be able to obtain prior to your start date. U.S. citizenship is required.

    What you'll do#

    • Support concept development, detailed design, analysis, integration, and testing.
    • Assist with transition to production efforts, factory production line support, and product improvement.
    • Perform root cause analysis and problem resolution at on-site labs, factories, or supplier locations.
    • Collaborate with Integrated Product Team Leads and Program Managers to manage engineering requirements, risks, schedules, and budgets.
    • Ensure Technical Data Package quality per ASME Y14.5 standards.
    • Prepare technical justification analysis reports and present findings to Engineering Review Boards.
    • Perform 3D parametric modeling and communicate technical information through presentations.
    • Work under the direct supervision of an Engineering team lead.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
    • Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
    • Ability to maintain active status in your degree program through the end of the internship.
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is desired.
    • Preferred experience includes Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5, Creo modeling and drafting, and Windchill configuration management.
