    About the role#

    As a Mechanical Engineer Intern at DeltaHawk Engines, you will work under the direction of the Director of Engineering to support the development of new engine and airframe components. You will handle short-term projects that provide exposure to various engineering specializations within a production environment. This role involves both office-based design work and hands-on assistance with technicians on the engine floor.

    What you'll do#

    • Design and develop engineered products that meet specific requirements.
    • Select materials and processes based on performance, longevity, reliability, and cost.
    • Coordinate with engineers, drafters, suppliers, and fabricators to procure prototype designs for testing.
    • Create test standards and protocols, then analyze and share your results.
    • Perform computational analysis, such as FEA and CFD, to validate designs.
    • Learn to navigate design and implementation constraints set by FAA regulations.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be enrolled in a BS program for Mechanical Engineering at a four-year university and have completed your sophomore year.
    • Completion of your junior year is preferred.
    • Basic experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software is preferred.
    • We prefer candidates with basic experience in FEA, CFD, GD&T, and engine performance simulation.
    • Involvement in organizations like SAE is a plus, as is prior experience in research and development.

    • This position is located in Racine, Wisconsin.
    • This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship with rolling start dates.
