About the role#
Collins Aerospace is looking for an Embedded Controls Hardware Co-Op to join the Electric Power Embedded Controls department in Rockford, Illinois. You will work alongside cross-functional teams to support the hardware lifecycle, from initial design to final deployment. This role is intended to provide hands-on experience in aerospace engineering while assisting our lead engineers with technical and administrative tasks.
What you'll do#
- Apply fundamental engineering knowledge to embedded controls tasks.
- Engage in the full hardware lifecycle, including requirements engineering, analysis, design, implementation, and testing.
- Prepare and publish documentation for hardware specifications, designs, and test results.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and technical inspections.
- Provide technical and administrative support to engineers to assist with project management and analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Advanced degree program in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
- Active enrollment status throughout the duration of the co-op session.
- Practical experience with electronics and electrical components.
- Experience working in a lab environment using electronic test equipment.
- Proficiency with Excel and circuit simulation software.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
