About the role#
Join the Digital Engine Services (DES) team to work on ground station software. You will focus on ingesting engine diagnostic data and monitoring performance within an AWS cloud environment. You will learn the full process of handling flight data from onboard recorders (FAST/DCTU) to support engine health monitoring. This role involves conducting continuous improvement studies on data-processing software and standardizing technical documentation and training materials.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to software development and validation as part of an agile team.
- Analyze requirements and prepare design documentation.
- Build object-oriented Python modules for the AWS environment.
- Participate in software validation, acceptance, and test automation.
- Create methods and tools to monitor the performance of ground station data processing.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Canadian university for the full duration of the internship.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
- Ability to work on-site in Longueuil.
- Studies in computer science, software development, or aerospace engineering.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both English and French.
- Experience developing applications in Python using Git for source code control.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration, and the ability to learn independently.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Advanced skills in Python and Excel are considered an asset.
Location & details#
- Location: Longueuil, Quebec, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 5 to April 23, 2027).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site, Monday to Friday with flexible hours.
- Note: The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check and obtain necessary clearances for handling controlled goods.
