About the role#
This co-op position offers the opportunity to work on secure systems within the aviation and aerospace component manufacturing industry. You will contribute to the full lifecycle of system products, from initial concept and design through to maintenance and disposal. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, available for the Summer and Fall 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Perform system analysis, architecture, and design tasks.
- Conduct functional analysis, trade studies, and define interface requirements.
- Translate customer needs into specific hardware and software specifications.
- Decompose system-level requirements into sub-system and component-level requirements.
- Develop verification criteria and test plans.
- Evaluate potential changes in technology, equipment, and procedures to improve system quality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in a STEM field, continuing through the end of the co-op session.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
- An active and existing security clearance is required after day one.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including the roles of scrum master and product owner.
- Experience with product integration, verification, and validation.
- Proficiency with tools such as MATLAB, C++, and Python.
