About the role#
The Columbus Engine Center is a major maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility for Pratt & Whitney engine families, including the Geared Turbo Fan and various military models. This co-op program offers rotational opportunities across multiple engineering and operations disciplines. You will work on-site, contributing to the manufacturing and maintenance processes that support our engine output and quality standards.
What you'll do#
Depending on your assigned department and interests, your responsibilities may include:
- Industrial Engineering: Analyze and improve processes, support lean projects from inception to implementation, and collaborate with stakeholders to increase engine output.
- Production/Process Engineering: Prioritize production issues with internal suppliers, manage risk using lean tools, and identify ways to reduce costs while increasing quality and efficiency.
- Robotics/Technology Engineering: Assist in the design, development, and testing of robotic systems, integrate automation into production lines, and troubleshoot performance issues.
- Environmental, Health, & Safety: Conduct safety and ergonomic assessments, assist with risk evaluations, and lead projects focused on workplace safety.
- Quality Engineering: Drive the standardization of the Quality Management System, lead root cause analysis investigations, and develop corrective actions for nonconformities.
- Supply Chain: Monitor and escalate supply chain issues, support supplier development, and assist in identifying capacity needs and procuring capital equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics/Supply Chain, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Active enrollment status through the completion of the co-op.
- Relevant experience gained through coursework, research, or previous work.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is preferred.
