About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Technical Developer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position focuses on applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to technical publications and data analysis. You will work on-site in East Hartford, Connecticut, to build tools and prototypes that improve our internal processes.
What you'll do#
- Develop and test machine learning models for pattern recognition, classification, or anomaly detection.
- Assist in creating AI/ML prototypes to support technical data analysis.
- Prepare datasets for analysis by working with structured technical data.
- Evaluate model performance using metrics like recall, precision, and false positive rate.
- Build scripts and tools for exploratory data analysis and preprocessing.
- Document model limitations, assumptions, and potential improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering, Quality Assurance, and technical publications teams to validate prototype outputs.
- Support the integration of AI-assisted outputs into human-in-the-loop review workflows.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Artificial Intelligence.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Continued enrollment through the end of the internship session.
- U.S. citizenship.
