About the role#
As an IT Software Engineer Intern at Vermeer, you will gain hands-on experience designing and supporting software solutions that strengthen business operations. You will work alongside experienced engineers to practice foundational development concepts and contribute to real product enhancements. This role focuses on building skills in cloud technologies, application development, and team-based Agile delivery.
What you'll do#
- Write and maintain code using object-oriented programming concepts and languages like C#.NET, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Create and test RESTful APIs and cloud services within Microsoft Azure.
- Participate in source control processes and introductory CI/CD workflows.
- Work with relational and non-relational databases to retrieve and prepare data for application features.
- Join Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
- Document findings and troubleshoot issues to support the software development lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Exposure to web development or application frameworks using C#.NET, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, cloud concepts, or CI/CD basics.
- Understanding of data formats such as JSON and XML.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work productively with technical and non-technical partners.
