About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based at our corporate office in Pella, Iowa. You will work on-site to assist our engineering teams with control systems and vehicle electronics. Occasional travel is part of this position.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and integration of control systems and vehicle electronics.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics using CAD tools like Zuken E3 or AutoCAD.
- Troubleshoot Controller Area Network (CAN) systems using diagnostic tools such as CANalyzer or Vector CANoe.
- Use multimeters and oscilloscopes to perform basic diagnostics.
- Participate in testing and validation activities using data acquisition tools like Dewesoft, MATLAB, or nCode.
- Document design changes and track progress within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Learn about functional safety standards like ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Agricultural Engineering.
- A foundational understanding of electrical engineering principles, specifically regarding control systems and vehicle electronics.
- Familiarity with CAD tools, CAN protocols, and data acquisition software.
- A willingness to perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting in both lab and field environments.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
