About the role#
As an Advanced Manufacturing Intern, you will work alongside engineers and technicians to solve technical problems and drive production improvements. You will spend your time in areas such as machine shop, welding, robotics, paint, assembly, and systems data. This role requires on-site work at the Pella campus.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with operations team members to identify and implement process improvements.
- Learn manufacturing workflows from the perspective of operators to suggest meaningful changes.
- Assist the team with the implementation of new equipment.
- Determine which manufacturing data points to display to support process improvement.
- Conduct research and development on future equipment, processes, and data systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- A strong interest in manufacturing processes, including safety, process capability, capacity planning, and flow.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- Previous internship experience or project work in manufacturing, steel fabrication, or capital projects is a plus but not required.
